While remodeling the home, the ceiling over the kitchen was opened and this mummified body of a long-departed squirrel came down with nearly 100 years of accumulated debris. I don't know how old it is, but I know that we have not heard anything in the attic since moving into this house in 1979, so I would guess that Old Squirrel is at least 30 years old, and probably much older.

The German baby taken from his parents after they put him up for sale on eBay for a euro--apparently as a joke--is back home.
"The child has been returned to his parents," prosecutor Johannes Kreuzpointer said on Thursday.
The parents had told the authorities the posting had been a joke. Prosecutors eventually agreed and dropped their investigation into child trafficking, the news service reported.
The original ad that ran May 24 stated: "Offering my nearly new baby for sale, as it has gotten too loud. It is a male baby, nearly 28 inches long and can be used either in a baby carrier or a stroller." The parents, both in their early 20s and residents of Unterallgau, were not identified. The bid price, 1 euro, is equivalent to about $1.57.
Otto Gaschler, deputy chief of youth services in Unterallgau, said that the posting was "like a game for them. They never thought that this stupid joke could have such an effect."
Gaschler said he didn't know how exactly how long the infant was away from home but said it was for several days. "The parents always had contact to their son," he noted. A social worker is checking on the family.

Sea Monster Found on Florida Beach
Tampa Bay to be exact. I wander the seashores in search of mermaids and sea monsters and I am quite successful at finding both. Late in the afternoon I chanced upon a crab in the process of devouring a sea monster. I pushed the hungry critter away from the sea monster in the hope that maybe it was still alive. No. The sea monster was dead and dried out by the Florida sun.

Image is about 6" tall. Termites in the walls at my office starting chomping into some books stored on the floor. The image they left is of Jesus on the Cross. See also the three orbs of the Trinity nearby. This occurred during a time of intense religious conversion. The image is on the wall at the floor on finished spackled sheetrock with high-gloss white paint.

I am offering one more time to sell this unusual wooden piece I made on my lathe, from a 100 year old maple I had to cut down 5 years ago. I did not notice this image until just before Christmas this year. Many people tell me they can see an image that resembles the face of Jesus.
